Where The Child Things Are provides high-quality gently used children’s items at an affordable price to customers in Des Moines and the surrounding areas. We offer a wide selection of items including: clothes, toys, books, DVDs, and much more.

Here at Where the Child Things Are, we take pride in making sure that all items are in clean working condition. Our goal is to provide our customers with the best possible children’s items around with the option of buying in store at our Valley West Mall location or online via our website (which offers in store pickup or shipping on select items). 

We are a family oriented company. We the owners, Suzy and Brad Collings, after starting a family of our own and being on a limited income, found that purchasing quality second hand children’s items saved us a considerable amount of money. We were also able to meet and develop relationships with everyday people like us: mothers, fathers, children, grandparents, teachers, daycare providers, and people from all walks of life. As a family we decided we wanted to play a bigger role in that community and look forward to growing as a small business and ambassadors for kids in the Des Moines area.
